The Useless Web
A playful recreation of the internet classic, pushing a button to discover absurd, fun, and unexpected websites.
Project Overview
This small creative project was built to explore randomness and humor in web interaction. Clicking a single button sends the user to a collection of useless websites curated for entertainment and surprise. It’s a modern homage to the original Useless Web.
The Idea
Sometimes the internet should just be fun. With this project, I wanted to strip interaction to the bare minimum, a button and a random redirect — while still creating something engaging.
Development
This project was created using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The logic relies on a simple array of URLs and window.location.href to randomly redirect users. Everything is kept lightweight and accessible, with no external libraries or frameworks.
What I Learned
Even the simplest projects need thought around interaction and experience. This one reminded me that playfulness is powerful in design and that users enjoy being surprised when it’s well executed.
